Having worked for a leading Melbourne building company since 2000, Deni Gelevski established Escape Homes in 2005, convinced he could build a quality product which would exceed client’s expectations, without the red tape and impersonal approach of the larger volume builders.
As Deni explains: “When I worked for the big boys, all I could see were problems. Problems with the skill level of the trades, problems with the plans, problems with the site supervision and problems with the way clients were communicated with throughout the build”
“On the basis that every problem is an opportunity, I figured that I could do all these things better, so I went out on my own. I gathered together a team of skilled and committed trade specialists and made sure that I was on site every day to understand and resolve any issues on the spot, and communicate clearly with the customer on an ongoing basis”.
“I also looked at the list of inclusions and decided that there was no point building a house that the customer then had to “finish off”. Therefore we include all the requirements of family living into the quoted price of our homes. It’s pretty much then “just unpack your toothbrush”. Our investor clients love this approach and they just keep coming back time after time.
And it’s worked! Today Escape Homes builds homes for dozens of satisfied customers, be they first home buyers, families, downsizers or investors, every year. Whilst Deni isn’t on every site these days the principle is the same with a number of highly trained site supervisors ensuring Escape Homes’ solid reputation continues well into the future.
